Kind Words Are Like Honey

An ancient book I enjoy reading says—

Kind words are like honey—
    sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.

Yesterday morning my attention was drawn to one of our women's Facebook profiles. Her husband wrote such a tender, loving post regarding his wife's breast cancer experience thus far.  I was so touched by Donald's kind and well-deserved words to the women of our Booby Buddies support community that I posted a reply. 

Each of our support groups is what it is because of the women who are there. We're there to show understanding, to share our experiences, to be kind, to have empathy and compassion for those traveling a familiar, and sometimes bumpy, road.

In ten years of serving our breast cancer sisters, I have rarely heard from the husbands or family of our women. And I have never had a husband honor our women and our efforts in such a meaningful way. Donald, thank you. And MJ, he's a keeper!
