Expert in the Spotlight: Tess Devèze

Tess Devèze is a clinical occupational therapist (OT), certified somatic sexologist and the founder of ConnectAble Therapies, a Melbourne-based sexuality OT community practice, working with people living with cancer, chronic illness, and disability.

Alongside working as a sexuality OT and somatic sexologist, she also works as a sexuality, intimacy, communication, and consent educator for adults, clinicians and LGBTQIA+ communities across Australia, having facilitated thousands of people for nearing a decade. As a cancer battler herself, Tess’s expertise is working in the field of sexuality and intimacy for people diagnosed with cancer.

She is a registered member and practitioner of the national OT board of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), clinical registration board OT Australia (OTAUS), the Society of Australian Sexologists Ltd (SAS), and the Somatic Sex Educators' Association of Australasia (SSEAA).

Finding support on this topic can be tough, but you are not alone. Tess says, “There are ways to reclaim our intimacy—there is hope! Because we are more than just our diagnosis.”
